Find out how Microsoft’s Power Platform admin center provides a unified management experience for IT. Julie Strauss, Principal PM Director for Microsoft Power Platform, joins host Jeremy Chapman to take a look at the controls you have in IT to manage environments, monitor across your tenant, as well as secure data access and more.

Power Platform’s low-code environment, such as Power Automate and Power Apps, is becoming more and more prolific among business users and citizen developers, but what does this mean for IT? In order to provide a unified management experience, see how we’ve been working in the area of administration and governance to make it easier from an IT perspective to oversee what apps and flows are being created, and all the policies you might need to set.

Access built-in reports on the new Power Platform admin center at https://admin.powerplatform.microsoft.com.

Check out updates on how you can manage and secure distributed multi-cloud compute resources in Azure using Azure Arc. This extends a unified management plan to your virtual machines and physical servers on-premises, including your SQL Servers wherever they are. Travis Wright, Principal Group Program Manager from the Azure Data Engineering Team, joins host Jeremy Chapman to share the latest updates.

If you're new to Azure Arc, it simplifies complex and distributed environments across on-premises, edge, and multi-cloud into a unified central management plan in Azure. Now you don't have to migrate these resources or move them to a common directory service; they simply stay where they are.

This provides a frictionless way of bringing together all the infrastructure and services that you have across the clouds, your data centers, and edge site locations, into a single, consistent view and toolset.

Updates include:

Manage your entire SQL Server estate from a single point of view and a single toolset from Azure.

Azure Arc extends Azure Security Center's vulnerability assessments and Advanced Threat Protection services to SQL Servers in your data center.

Azure Policy ensures that services are compliant as they are provisioned. Track compliance in the Azure Policy compliance dashboard.

Monitor all your Kubernetes clusters from one place using Azure Monitor.

Take a look at the latest capabilities for Power Apps that allow you to build responsive and rich app experiences around your data and processes with zero-to-low-code. Power Apps is about building modern and cross-platform apps that are accessible to all types of users — from non-technical to developers. If you are new to Power Apps, the experience is similar to a cross between PowerPoint and Excel.

Join Jeremy Chapman as lead Power Apps Program Manager, Clay Wesener, shows you how to get started; from a blank app, ready-made templates, or based on data you already have. You’ll see new capabilities such as how to incorporate low-code components, components created using code by a pro developer, and how to use mixed reality to bridge the gap between your app and the real world - whether that's working with geospatial controls, measuring spaces, or viewing 3D objects.

Take a look at the latest updates to the Power Platform that allow you to build intelligent, low-code, cross-platform apps. Join host Jeremy Chapman as Charles Lamanna, Power Platform CVP, shares a hands-on demonstration to walk you through some of these updates in action.

QUICK LINKS:

02:29 - Hands-on-demo

07:12 - Setup Mixed Reality

08:12 - How robotic process automation capabilities work

10:50 - How to build a bot inside of Teams

13:01 - Where do you go to start using the Power Platform

• Discover the new robotic process automation capabilities in Power Automate: record mouse clicks, keyboard inputs, and Win32 application experiences, and then play them back in the background. This allows you to automate tasks (even if there's no API, and all you can use is a Legacy application or Legacy experience).

• Check out improved experiences of Power Virtual Agent, the newest addition to the Power Platform. This includes additional channel support, so you can work inside of Teams and WhatsApp, as well as integrate with Azure Bot Framework or Azure Bot Framework Composer to bring additional code-first skills inside the Power Virtual Agent design surface area.

• And finally, find out how to make the Power Platform respond to your new remote-work reality. With improved Teams integration, Power Apps now has responsive app templates that work on mobile, as well as desktops, and better understanding of the context that's hosting the application. Additionally, Power Apps Mobile has new mixed-reality capabilities and can visualize 3D assets in space.

Walk through all the steps an admin will take to assess and migrate client virtual machines (VMs) and their related dependencies to Azure, using Azure Migrate.

If you are unfamiliar with Azure Migrate, it is a central hub to discover, assess, and migrate workloads to Azure. It provides tooling and monitoring to both Microsoft and partner migration services for moving servers, databases, websites, and virtual desktop infrastructure to the cloud.

In this video, the focus will be on the steps used for migrating your virtual desktop infrastructure. This includes two primary paths:

• Migrate your existing host infrastructure to new Windows Virtual Desktop host infrastructure on Azure and tailor your VDI images to the new environment (great for shared virtual machines)

• Choose to replicate existing persistent virtual machines to the new infrastructure (works well for user-dedicated, personal VMs)
