As you migrate or build new solutions in the Cloud with Azure Landing Zones, set yourself up for success with a set of reference environments that provide an operational foundation to host your workloads in Azure.

Azure Landing Zones gives you the building blocks and scaffolding at the workload or organizational level to ensure any resource you build or migrate to Azure aligns with the rules and policies you set. We provision a set of Azure baseline services that you deploy as code to give you a landing zone to host your workloads. This ensures consistency across foundational services, like how you configure networking, identity, resource organization, governance policy, and operations.

Matt McSpirit, Microsoft Azure’s Senior Product Manager, joins host Jeremy Chapman to give you a hands-on introduction to landing zone options from ‘Start Small and Expand’, which helps you incrementally govern your environment, to ‘Enterprise Scale’, that enables you to operationalize and construct many landing zones at scale.

Create intelligent chatbots directly in Microsoft Teams using Power Virtual Agents (PVA). We'll also show how the integration with the Bot Framework Composer lights up new capabilities for building even richer custom experiences. Jeremy Chapman is joined by Emma Archer, Principal Group Program Manager for Power Virtual Agents, who shows you how easy it is to create a new PVA bot in Teams and how to extend it with custom capabilities, leveraging the Bot Framework Composer.

With so many of us working remotely, it can be harder to get your questions answered. We’ve integrated PVA to give you an instant bot authoring canvas to build intelligent and responsive chatbots without even leaving Teams. You can build custom virtual chat experiences to engage with your team, address frequently asked questions, and save time by triaging common IT questions. And the good news is that Power Virtual Agents is included in your Teams license.

Just released to public preview is our deep integration of PVA with the Azure Bot Framework Composer.This offers richer experiences, such as adaptive dialogues that give you a way to code complex event-driven dialogues. Bots can easily switch contexts mid-conversation and then switch back, so they appear less robotic. Or use adaptive cards that give you a rich, interactive display and enable you to incorporate images and videos.

Navigate Cloud Economics in Azure, and see radical cost savings for your organization based on your specific workloads. Cloud billing is tied to compute and storage, which includes the underlying software licensing fees. Costs accrue via a pay for what you consume model, versus the up-front server infrastructure and software licensing costs that you would typically pay on-premises in your data center. Join Matt McSpirit, Microsoft Azure’s Senior Product Manager, to see how the cloud consumption model in Azure applies.

The Cloud is infinitely flexible; it’s not “one size fits all.” A major advantage of the Cloud is the power it gives you to elastically scale compute resources in response to different peaks in your business. As you pay for what you consume, consider how you will consume resources for your specific workloads in order to get the best pricing.

Unpredictable workloads:

Add and subtract resources as you need them, resulting in variable costs.

Purposefully architecting for elasticity can help to save costs

Predictable workloads:

Make an upfront commitment to consume at a certain level for a longer period of time, and you can benefit from fixed costs at reduced pricing.

Azure Dedicated Host provides the physical servers you need dedicated to your Azure subscription

Azure Reservations allows you to commit resources for one-year or three-year plans for multiple services

Across both of these consumption approaches, one of the most important levers to keep your costs in check, is software licensing which can make up to 30-40% of your Cloud bill. Once you are in Azure, the Azure Cost Management tool allows you to set target budgets and track against spending. And if you are trying to reduce your carbon footprint, studies show that Microsoft cloud services are up to 93 percent more energy-efficient and up to 98 percent more carbon-efficient than datacenters run on-premises.

Build a consistent experience for frontline workers with Microsoft Teams updates. Take a look at the latest updates for frontline workers in Microsoft Teams. The past year has revealed a gap that exists for essential workers in terms of equal access to technology. By proactively extending the Team's platform to them, you can avoid workers finding their own potentially risky solutions.
